Clinton had outweighed Trump with public and celebrity endorsements

Donald Trump is now the President-Elect of the United States of America. The election outcome shocked people around the world for a range of legitimate reasons: polls that skewed heavily in favor of Hillary Clinton, the pundit class predicting a strong Clinton victory, an almost unanimous endorsement of Clinton from newspapers across the country, Trump’s status as an outsider candidate contrasted with Clinton’s decades of insider status, and, for those who care how celebrities vote, a meteor shower of stars for Clinton that far outweighed the support that Trump received.  To help highlight this, we’ve put together a list of notable supporters of each candidate, many of whom actively campaigned for their preferred candidate, through social media or otherwise. We’ve also compiled their followings on Twitter, where available, and found that in sum, notable figures and organizations supporting Clinton have 59 times the Twitter following of Trump endorsers.  Pundits and analysts will discuss these election results for some time, no doubt, but if anything, the amount of outward support by individuals and organizations that have vast followings towards Clinton is worth noting.  Trump still won the election and millions of voters voted for him despite the outward celebrity endorsements received by Clinton.
